Not a 'no' exactly, I asked Lynn to put anyone in touch with me from R2 who might be up for it, I would not want to undermine our friendship by then going direct but I know from meeting her that this would not be SK's cup of tea.

I must admit I am starting to fret a bit, I have never promised to get someone every year but I know some expect it, this year it has not been for the want of trying and some realy interesting folk would have been up for it if they had been free, and I think I've made a few new friends en-route which is always nice. The good news is I have someone who I consider wonderful up for riding shotgun next year, but I have been asked not to make an announcement till after entries open for 2011 and my place is confirmed, even my wife is excited about her and that don't happen often, no Bill, don't go there!!!!

So at least I should be able to have a year off from 'Celeb stalking', and have a handful of 'good eggs' who have asked me to come back to them next time I'm looking, so 2012.

Quite a few of you have been really supportive in my quest, I know it has come to nothing so far but those concerned need to know how much I appreciate the help, my hunt would have been a lonely job without you, and you know who you are.

Re Arlington, I spoke to Debs, Charlies Agent a couple of days ago, she has no one free. Charlie was my most talented co-driver, we came 4th overal that year, natural beauty with a natural talent.

I even have a couple of Celebs who deserve a credit looking for people . Michaela Strachan who lives in Africa has been coming up with ideas, and Jasmine Harman who will be sleding for 'Dogs Trust' at the time has been persuing people, there are a few good-eggs still out there.

Have 4 new leads to follow up today two girls and two guys + a local radio DJ who is keen if her daughter has her baby in time. I have heard from Selwyn that someone else may have found someone but neither Peter or I have been in the loop so I can't confirm. Whatch this space.

I have had an idea

Unusual I know, but here goes.

How about having Peter as the celebrity, he certainly ticks all the boxes.

The most advantage he may have will be the overall route and as an ex military man can keep a secret.

I may be nice for him to see it from the other side.

Plan B

In one of the forests last year we met a very nice lady, I believe she was the wife of the Britpart manager.
Mind you that may end the sponsorship.
